Morning: The Uphill Battle & The Perfect Bean

7:00 AM – Fuel Up: Start with an essential, quick breakfast at the resort. You’ll need the energy—the mountain does not wait!

7:30 AM – Huye Hike Start: Drive immediately to the foothills of Mount Huye.

8:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Hitting the Peak (Hiking & Wildlife): Embark on a moderate, guided hike up Mount Huye. This activity fulfills your Hiking requirement and your local Wildlife fix by offering spectacular panoramic views, rich flora, and chances to spot local birdlife and small primates.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Coffee Descent: Transfer directly from the mountain trail to the nearby Huye Mountain Coffee cooperative.

12:30 PM – 2:30 PM – The Coffee Experience & Lunch: Dive into the abbreviated, high-impact Coffee Experience (Seed-to-Cup). See the entire process—from bean washing and drying to traditional roasting—and conclude with a fresh cupping session. This serves as your energizing lunch break.

Afternoon: Culture, History, and Royalty

2:30 PM – 2:45 PM – Transfer to City: Drive back into the heart of Butare/Huye town.

2:45 PM – 4:45 PM – Intellectual Capital (Huye City Tour): Conduct your Butare/Huye City Tour with a two-hour focus on the cultural heart of Rwanda: the magnificent Ethnographic Museum of Rwanda. This is the essential cultural cornerstone of the city.

4:45 PM – 5:30 PM – Royal Encounter: Take a short drive to nearby Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum. Focus on viewing the traditionally reconstructed palace and meeting the majestic, long-horned Inyambo cattle—your final, cultural “wildlife” sighting of the day.
